Making Time For Yourself: 4 Tips for TruMoms

Between helping kids with homework, driving the neighborhood to soccer practice, cooking dinner and enforcing bedtime, it’s easy to forget about your own exercise and nutrition needs. However, to achieve daily balance and overall well being, taking care of you should be a priority. From finding time for a glass of TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk in the morning, to getting creative with exercise in the afternoon, here are 4 tips to help you stay healthy, active – and sane!

1.    Start your day fresh

Creating a little time for yourself gets increasingly more difficult as the day goes on. Try waking up 10-15 minutes early and using that time, well, for you! Take a walk around the neighborhood or do a few easy morning stretches.

As the kids start to wake up, pour everyone a glass of fresh, pure TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk accompanied with a nutritious breakfast of your choice. With 8 delicious nutrients in every glass, it gives you what you need to power through the day – and a brain boost for the kiddos!

2.    Schedule routine outings

Once or twice a week, carve out at least a 2-hour time frame for you to get out of the house sans children. Go for a manicure or grab dinner with your friends.

Try hiring a babysitter for the night – even if this means asking your partner to stay in for a few hours on a weekly basis. Making time for yourself should be a routine rather than an occasional treat.

3.    Include the kids

Get the kiddos involved in activities you enjoy – the sooner, the better! If you enjoy baking, you can have the kids help you around the kitchen. If you prefer bicycling for fresh air, you can let the little ones tag along for some outdoor fun.

By cooking and exercising with your children, you’ll be setting a good example and showing them that good nutrition and exercise activities are a way of life.

4.    Exercise while they play

Your kids most likely enjoy a trip to the park, but what does all that lounging around do for you? There are ways to stay active while watching your kids play. Try getting full body exercises during an afternoon at the park!

Park benches are perfect for tricep dips and pushups – and the monkey bars can be used for pull-ups or hanging abdominal workouts! Of course, you can always join them in jumping rope or a game of tag.

After an active day out in the park, relax with a tall glass of TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk. With 8 essential nutrients, just the right amount of sugar and pure cocoa giving it that chocolaty taste, it’s a nutritious post-workout snack the whole family will love!
